Effective Monday, January 31, 2022, there will be a fee increase on the disbursements listed on all Real Estate transaction files.
This means that any Purchase, Sale, Refinance or Mortgage transaction will have a revised cost listed beside ‘Software Transaction Charge’, on a clients final account.
The charge will be increased to $249 from $129 Canadian. This increase is a result of the legal software company, DoProcess, announcing they will be raising their per file transaction fee charged to law firms for closing a real estate transaction. At no time does any or a portion of this fee remain with Carson Law or returned at a later date.
The DoProcess program Unity, that is widely used in the legal industry, is the dominant conveyancing software in Ontario and is needed to make any real estate transaction legitimate. To learn about Conveyancing, please click here.
